Australia's premier pace bowler Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against West Indies. He has been let off from the team to rest following a strenuous Test series. The team management did this so that Hazlewood could recover and remain fresh for the upcoming white-ball series against South Africa next month. Hazlewood, 33, played numerous Test matches recently, and the selectors prefer to manage his workload. They are adopting a rotation policy to prevent injuries and maintain players for upcoming games. His exclusion provides opportunity to younger players to demonstrate their talent and get a chance to play in the team. Young Players Step In Jake Fraser-McGurk and Xavier Bartlett have been included in the team as replacements. The two performed well in domestic cricket and recent franchise leagues. Fraser-McGurk is an aggressive batter. He performed well in IPL 2024 and played his first T20I match in September last year. So far, he has played seven T20Is and scored a top of 50. His rapid starts have been a cause of surprise for many. Bartlett will step in to replace Hazlewood and Spencer Johnson, who remains side-lined with a back injury. Bartlett is a young left-arm fast bowler who has already claimed 22 wickets from only nine international games. He claimed four wickets on debut at the MCG.
