The Afghanistan Cricket Board has extended Jonathan Trott's tenure as a coach by 12 months after a successful campaign in 2024. His next assignment will be the ODI series against Zimbabwe, but he won't accompany the team for the other formats in this tour, due to personal reasons. Hamid Hassan will fill his absence as the head coach and Nwroz Mangal as assistant coach.
