The duo of Root-Brook also entered into the elite batting combinations list, which includes Bradman and Will Ponsford of Australia and Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis of South Africa who have more than one 300+ run combination in away conditions. The partnership between Root-Brook also took the record of the highest partnership by an English pair when it broke the 1957 record that Colin Cowdrey and Peter May set as they batted against West Indies at Birmingham.
