The Indian batting star Jemimah Rodrigues has been released from the Brisbane Heat squad for the rest of the Women's Big Bash League Season 11. Cricket Australia released an official statement where the WBBL confirmed her departure. After winning the 2025 Women's World Cup, Jemi went to Australia and joined the franchise. However, she had a short time there and came back to india last week to stay with her friend Smriti Mandhana for the latter's marriage. Notably, Smriti's father suffered an heart attack on her wedding day- the official reason given from the Mandhana family for the postponement of the wedding. Brisbane Heat CEO Terry Svenson has been compassionate about Smriti's challenge and wished her the best. He said, "It has obviously been a challenging time for Jemi, so while it is unfortunate that she will take no further part in the WBBL, we were more than willing to agree to her request to remain in India.
