The Board of Cricket Council of India had organized an event '50 Days To Go’ in Mumbai, having had 50 days left for the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup to commence. Several Indian cricketers were present, of whom the middle-order star Jeminah Rodrigues was one. Speaking at the event, Rodrigues credited the Women's Premier League for helping budding cricketers to get ready for the bigger platform. Rodrigues took reference of the new young talent Kranti Goud, who is full of confidence and boosts the team spirit. Speaking at the event, Rodrigues said, “What the WPL has done has given youngsters a platform to perform and get into the Indian team. There’s not as much pressure as on international debut. In this team, we see that. We look at Kranti (Gaud), she’s fearless. That attitude is so nice to see that it pushes each one of us." Notably, Gaud was the highest wicket taker in the away ODI Series against England. She took 9 wickets in three matches, having an average of 15.11 and an economy touching 6.22. She remembered the tired faces that used to come out of the airport and was still getting awed by the welcome they received. She narrated, “I remember all these people, they were tired and at the same time disappointed, because they were so close, and yet it felt so far. They walked out of the airport thinking nobody was going to be there. And I can tell you that at 5:30 in the morning, the whole airport was packed with a crowd. People right now would think that that’s normal. But at that time, for women’s sport, it wasn’t. I remember this whole bunch of players coming in and going back, because they weren’t expecting it." Rodrigues further highlighted a major shift in the Indian women’s cricket team’s approach to preparation, emphasizing that increased confidence from thorough preparation brings her greater clarity. Notably, India will begin their 2025 Cricket World Cup journey facing Sri Lanka at Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on September 30.
