The Mumbai batter Jemimah Rodrigues scored a sensational century on the winning side of India on October 30, at DY Patil Stadium. Jemmy made a 167-run partnership with her captain, Harmanpreet Kaur. Kaur herself scored 89 runs off 88 balls. Meanwhile, Jemimah stood not out at 127 runs and partnered with Amanjot Kaur who hit the winning four.   However, amidst the fireworks and winning tears, Jemmy joined hands with her captain Harmanpreet Kaur to be the second Indian woman to score a century in a World Cup knockout match. Coincidentally, Harmanpreet Kaur's opponent was Australia. It was in 2017 when the Mithali Raj-led team defeated Australia by 36 runs at Derby. Harmanpreet, just like Jemmy, stood not out for 171 runs off 115 balls. She smashed 20 boundaries and seven sixes. However, the dreams were shattered by England at the Lord's as the hosts defeated India in a tight match by 9 runs.   Coming to Jemmy, she was composed and did not take any unnecessary risks. Even though Australia's poor fielding aided and repeated wides favored India's chances, Jemimah kept holding her nerves still. She scored her 100th run on the 115 balls and took calculative risks later.    With the century, Jemimah also became the fourth woman cricketer to have a century at the ODI World Cup knockout matches.   Read also:  India Women Beat Australia to Enter ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Final   Women Players to have century in ODI world Cup knockout matches   Player  Country Score Opponent Match type Harmanpreet Kaur India 171* Australia Semi Final, 2017 ODI World Cup Alyssa Healy Australia 170 England Final, 2022 World Cup Laura Wolvaardt South Africa 160 England Semi-final, 2025 World Cup Jemimah Rodrigues India 127  Australia Semi Final, 2025 World Cup   World Cup to have new name on it   It is India vs. South Africa again. Their final jinx had already been broken in the last Men's World Test Championship this year.   Well, speaking about the India team, Richa Ghosh deserved a lot of praise for her short cameo of 26 runs in the middle that eased the chase. Later Aman, who was initially supporting Jemmy, got some shorts and brought the chase to one run a ball.    Speaking about the Australian team, they had won the toss and had decided to bat first. Thanks to Phoebe Litchfield's 119 runs, rightly supported by Ellyse Perry (77) and Ashleigh Gardner (63), Australia put up 338 runs on the board. Coming to chase, baring Kaur and Jemimah, the Indians had their decent contribution in the twenties.
