The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently cleared that the Indian team won’t be travelling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025. BCCI conveyed their stance to the ICC regarding their participation officially. Meanwhile, ICC has informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) via an official email about India’s stand, and the board has passed on the information to the government. In the latest development, the news of team India not participating in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan has hurt the former legendary Pakistani cricketer, Javed Miandad. Miandad emphasized that Pakistan is fully capable of not only surviving but thriving even without competing against India in ICC tournaments. As quoted by India Today, Miandad said: "It is a joke that this is happening. Even if we don't play India at all, Pakistan cricket will not only survive but prosper as well as we have shown in the past. I would like to see how the ICC events earn money when there are no Pakistan and India matches.” The BCCI is pushing for the Champions Trophy to follow a hybrid model, but PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi remains steadfast, insisting that the entire tournament should take place in Pakistan. Originally, the schedule for the upcoming 2025 Champions Trophy was slated to be unveiled during a launch event on Sunday, November 10. However, it has now been delayed after India communicated its government's position on sending players to Pakistan.
