The young Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is all set to make a comeback in competitive cricket after undergoing surgery before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Green will feature in the 2025 World Test Championship final against South Africa at the spectacular Lord's Cricket Stadium in England. Meanwhile, Green revealed Jasprit Bumrah reached out to him before he got operated on. Speaking to 7Cricket, Green said, "Jasprit Bumrah reached out the night before I was getting surgery. He was in the middle of a Test match in India. Just a few things like that is really special. To get someone like him to reach out and then to watch him during the summer, to see how good he is obviously post-surgery, filled me with a lot of confidence." Cameron Green was suffering from a unique issue and had to undergo surgery before the BGT. He thus missed BGT, later the Sri Lanka series, the Champions Trophy and even the 2025 Indian Premier league. Notably, Green has been a mate of Bumrah since their days in Mumbai Indians in 2023, but Bumrah had to miss the season as he went through back surgery then. Thereafter he decided fo go with the surgery. Green said, "I spoke to Ben Dwarshuis, and Jason Behrendorff, who I'm very close to in WA," Green said. "And they couldn't speak any higher about getting it. Both of them said they wished they got it earlier. I think that's obviously really reassuring. As soon as I decided to get it, I knew it was the right thing to do." However, Green confirmed that he is fit to go and had hit the gym in a week or two. Green added, "At the two-week mark after surgery, I was in the gym moving around. It was incredible."
