The final verdict came out for the Champions Trophy squad for India, and star bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out. After weeks of speculation, BCCI finally concluded that Bumrah won’t be playing in the 2025 Champions Trophy due to the back strain he succumbed to during the Border Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. Notably, he walked out in between the first innings at the Sydney Test and went for scans. At around February 10, Jasprit Bumrah reportedly joined the National Cricket Academy and had resumed training. According to various sources, he was gradually increasing the workload, but all efforts failed. BCCI risked every possible chance for Bumrah, but finally the hope of rising from the ashes of the 2017 Champions Trophy final horror ultimately got dismissed for Bumrah. Meanwhile, India had added Harshit Rana for the ODI series against England. He even debuted in Nagpur and had taken three crucial wickets. Instead of Mohammad Siraj, it is Harshit Rana who has been added to the Champions Trophy squad as a replacement for Bumrah.
