The stand-in captain for India, Rishabh Pant, did his gamble, bringing in Jasprit Bumrah before three minutes to go for Tea at Guwahati's Barsapara Stadium. And Bumrah did not fail! Right before the Tea, South Africa lost its first wicket, bowling out the opener Aiden Markram for 38. Buram and his partner, Mohammed Siraj, have been pretty consistent with their actions, and Bumrah had a chance in before. However, a subtle mix-up with Sai Sudharsan and KL Rahul at the slip resulted in the latter dropping an absolute sitter, with Markram getting his life. The batter hit a few of his trademark drives and managed four boundaries before Bumrah got him. In the fifth ball of the 27th over, Bumrah delivered a straight around-off full delivery speeding at 140 kmph, pushing Amrkram to his backfoot. The ball got a good inside edge and then reached the stumps, chipping off the bails. Before tea, South Africa halted at 1 for 82.
