Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali feels that Jasprit Bumrah has a 10% chance to fit in the 2025 Champions Trophy squad considering his injury during the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Ali feels that Bumrah must take one to six months to recover from a stress fracture, but if it is a spasm, he will recover soon. On his YouTube channel, Ali told that, "Bumrah ka dekhenge (kya) announcement hoti hai..., mera khayal hai dus percent chance hai (let's see what the announcement is around Bumrah; I think he has a 10 percent chance). The Champions Trophy 2025 will commence on February 19, with India playing all their matches in Dubai. Prior to that, India will face England at home for a five-match T20 series and a three-match ODI series. Reports are suggesting that Bumrah, along with Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Mohammad Siraj, are likely to be rested. The final squad will be published on January 12. He took 32 wickets with an average around 13, but bowled around 151 overs, the second highest by an Indian. He has been milked off by the Indian team, despite struggling. However, in Sydney, he had to leave for scans in a nearby hospital. Coming back, he could not bowl for the rest of the match. Even though he was awarded the "Player of the Series," his future endeavours are uncertain. Former India trainer Ramji Snirivasan talked to the Times of India and indicated Ali's predictions. He said, "I agree that if only spasms, he should be fit. In fact, he might be feeling all right even before he boarded the flight back home. But I am no sure about it (the nature of the injury). The injury is related to stress, which is a direct result of playing too much cricket. If it is anything between Grade 1 to Grade 3 injury related to stress fracture, it can take up to one to six months of recovery."
