Jasprit Bumrah has achieved the second-highest rating points in Indian history from an Indian bowler as per the rankings chart after taking 9 wickets for 94 runs in the third Test against Australia in Brisbane. Bumrah, who is already the top-ranked bowler, further consolidated his position with 14 points, taking his total to 904 points, 48 ahead of second-ranked Kagiso Rabada (856). The only other Indian bowler to reach this tally is Ravichandran Ashwin, who had achieved it in December 2016 after the fourth Test against England in Mumbai. Bumrah, who has been the leading wicket-taker in the five-match Border-Gavaskar Series with 21 wickets in six innings at an average of 10.90, is likely to break Ashwin's record when India plays Australia at Melbourne for the Boxing Day Test, as the series is tied at 1-1.
