Pakistan Test team's head coach Jason Gillespie talked about the changes made before the 2nd Test against England. Labeling himself as a "match-day strategist," Gillespie mentioned that he was not involved in the selection of the players. He cares more about their performance on the ground than about who gets picked. At a press conference ahead of the 3rd Test, Gillespie said: "I am not a selector, I am a match-day strategist and as head coach, I am all about the players. My focus is on the players and all that, let selectors do their jobs. We just go out there and play the best possible cricket we can play." Back, though, Pakistan has ended an 11-match losing streak at home with some bold moves and smart changes, beating England by 152 runs in the 2nd Test in Multan. It also marked Shan Masood's first win as Test captain, having replaced Babar Azam. Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Afridi were rested and given way to debutant Kamran Ghulam and experienced spinners Sajid Khan and Noman Ali. He said: "The PCB came out and made some changes after that Test match. It was decided that a new selection panel would come in, and they would be making decisions. I wasn't involved in the decision-making, I was just there. I am now a coach and a match-day strategist. I keep out of things now and focus on the players and just getting them ready for cricket." Rewarded after regular impressive performances in first-class cricket, Ghulam made a testimonial impression by scoring a ton on debut. Sajid Khan and Noman Ali shared all 20 wickets in that match, levelling the series for Pakistan.
