Over a decade later, James Anderson made an impressive comeback to T20 cricket in the T20 Blast after Lancashire. He put together arguably his best performance in T20 cricket at age 42, A legendary England cricketer who has not played a T20 for Lancashire since 2014, showed once again how high his class is, producing a phenomenal bowling performance. Anderson is 42 and did pull up his international duties last year, but he still delivers fire. While appearing for Lancashire's match against Durham on sunday, in four overs he delivered 3 for 17. The experienced pacer had early success, managing opners Alex Lees and Graham Clark in the powerplay to remove him. He would later return in the death overs to take out inevitable strong batsman Colin Ackermann, finishing his spell excellently. If only counting England T20 games, his T20 was in 2009. Thereafter he focused strictly on Test cricket, giving away shorter formats. Over his 20+ year career, Anderson has only appeared in 44 T20s taking 41 wickets. He finished as England's leading wicket taker (704 wickets in 188 Tests) and as their highest capped player. Anderson's last Test was against the West Indies last year. Since retiring, Anderson has played a limited number of domestic matches. He worked as a fast bowling consultant for England last summer, but has since stopped that work. Anderson also played a County Championship match for Lancashire last year, and took 7/35. He did not play in the IPL 2025 auction, but registered to play.
