The Indian star wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant was seen taunting the all-rounder wicketkeeper Ravindra Jadeja when the Indian team celebrated the 1-year anniversary of them winning the 2024 T20 World Cup. Two cakes were brought in as a means of celebration, and the Indian players were asked to cut them. Initially, the players were seen hesitating but cheering, and then the Test Captain Shubman Gill pushed Arshdeep Singh to cut the cake. Later Mohammed Siraj joined and the player of the tournament, Jasprit Bumrah, joined too. They cut the cake and fed each other, and Bumrah turned to give a bite to Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, who were standing on his right. Pant gave a bit to Bumrah and then to Jadeja, and then both Pant and Bumrah said that this piece marks the one-year anniversary of Ravindra Jadeja's retirement. None of them mentioned which format he took retirement from, and then AJds wittily confirmed that it's just one format he hung his boots up from. Rishabh and Bumrah was heard saying, "Jaddu bhai ko, happy retirement, ek saal ho gaye." [To Jaddu bhai, happy retirement — it's been a year.] And then Jads clarified, "Ek hi format se liye he abhi tak." Along with him, his two senior mates Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli also announced the same. They announced retirement from the Tests too, while Jads is still continuing with the format and is available for the ODI too. Well, Jadeja did not have a great time in the World Cup, but the team managed to have a balanced team to pick up the trophy after 17 years (2007). He is neither having one in the England Test series, while Rishabh Pant bagged two centuries but ended up on the losing side. India will play the second Test on July 2 at Edgbaston.
