The Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) secured a dominant win over the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday, May 25, to close out their 2025 IPL campaign in style. In the highest-quality Match No. 68 of IPL 2025, SRH laid it down against KKR by 110 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Sunrisers Hyderabad marched on with a score of 278/3, courtesy of big contributions from Heinrich Klaasen (105*), Travis Head (76), Abhishek Sharma (32), Ishan Kishan (29), and Aniket Verma (12). In reply, the Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling attack gutted KKR by dismissing them for 168 much earlier in 18.4 overs. Jaydev Unadkat, Eshan Malinga, and Harsh Dubey picked three wickets each to notch a victory for their side. He said: "Amazing finish. The last few games of the season, lots of things clicked and it was scary to watch that kind of batting." At the post-match ceremony, captain Pat Cummins was visibly excited. He referred to the team's batting performance as "scary," and noted how the team continued to respond positively to adversities, despite injury issues. Pat Cummins stated: "We get wickets like here, we got to max out and get 250-260 and other ones where we need to graft and get to 170 which we didn't. Quite a few people got opportunities, we looked at each one of them when selecting a team, but couldn't fit them in. Really happy with the squad we have got, few players went with injures back home, we used 20 players." This win was nice as the team had just been beaten by the same opposition. SRH were previously beaten convincingly on April 3, 2025, by KKR at Eden Gardens, SRH lost that game by 80 runs. The game at Eden Gardens was one where SRH had to bowl first. Mohammed Shami, Pat Cummins, Zeeshan Ansari, Harshal Patel and Kamindu Mendis had one wicket each, but KKR was able to score 200/6. Thewards, the SRH chase was quickly off the rails. Losing Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Ishan Kishan within the first three overs, SRH could never recover. Kamindu Mendis (27 off 20) and Heinrich Klaasen (33 off 21) just about tried to steady the innings, but the team was folded for just 120 in 16.4 overs, suffering a heavy defeat.
