The Indian stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are standing at the edge of retirement, with BCCI making it tough for them to get easy access for the upcoming 2027 Men's ODI World Cup. In such a situation, when Virat Kohli suffered two back-to-back ducks, Rohit Sharma anchored the innings with his 73-run innings. However, a recent video went viral that sparked Ro's ODI retirement too. Currently, ODI is the only format Rohit is playing in. The 38-year-old opening batter has shed a lot of weight and has come back fit. However, in the video, a short conversation between him and the head coach, Gautam Gambhir, was overheard. Gambhir was saying lightheartedly to Rohit that fans thought it was Ro's last match. Gauti was heard saying, “Rohit, sabko lag rha tha ki aaj farewell match thha, ek photo to lagaa do [Everybody thought it was your farewell match, put out a photo]." Hearing that, Rohit turned back but didn't answer, but smiled, and left after interacting with an official standing at the ally waiting to greet him.
