Indian batter Rinku Singh has been allegedly engaged to Samajwadi Party’s Lok Sabha MP Priya Saroj. A news portal claimed that the engagement has been done recently. Notably, neither Rinku nor Priya has commented on this. Rinku Singh was there in the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad, led by Rohit Sharma. Following that, he has been playing domestic cricket and will join the Indian team for the upcoming T20 series against England. He has already represented India in 30 T20Is and two ODIs amassing 562 runs. Speaking about Priya Saroj, the 26-year-old first-time MP representing Uttar Pradesh’s Macchlishahr constituency studied law and is the daughter of Tufani Saroj. She defeated BJP’s BP Saroj by over 35,000 votes last year. Her father is a seasoned politician who won Lok Sabha polls consistently between 1999 and 2014. Saroj, in an interview, told The Indian Express, “Though my father is a seasoned politician and has won Lok Sabha polls consistently between 1999 and 2014, I never thought of becoming a politician while growing up. After graduating in law, I started preparing for judgeship exams during the Covid-19 pandemic. Even when my ticket was announced, I was taking online classes for the exams."
