One of the burning topics during the last IPL season was the future of Rohit Sharma with Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians, the five-times IPL winning team, controversially withdrew captaincy from him and gave that to Hardik Pandya. With teams slowly gearing up for the next season of the IPL and the mega auction coming up, Rohit Sharma is likely not to be in the top retained players for the Mumbai Indians. Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan feels that Rohit Sharma will get all the good amount of bids if he gets released. He says many teams will be in a rush to snap him since he carries a rich captaincy experience with five IPL titles. Irfan Pathan says, "Jung hogi Jung (There will be a huge bidding war for Rohit Sharma I am telling you). He brings one special thing with him and that is 'captaincy experience'. Every team will wish to have a captain like him. "In the form of Rohit, they will get an Indian captain and therefore will be able to make good use of the Impact Player rule as having an overseas captain at times forces teams to keep him in the playing XI irrespective of his performance," Also Read | Top 5 Fights in IPL History that Created Headlines Irfan Pathan said when asked if Rohit Sharma's recent form would make a difference to his final price. He replied, "Not really." He went ahead to suggest that the franchises would be more worried about Rohit's fitness rather than recent performance. Irfan Further added, "Not at all, We all know what Hitman Rohit can do with the bat. Yes, one thing that each team will keep a keen eye on, will be his fitness. If Rohit Sharma is FIT, he will be HIT," Rohit Sharma is an exceptional captain, having led Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles.
