In the 2012 U-19 World Cup, Unmukt Chand led India to its title. He made a match winning 111 off 130 for the Under-19s when India defeated Australia A by six wickets to win the cup. It was his third century in a row in a final for the Under-19 side. Unmukt scored 246 runs in six matches at an average of 49.20 but he did not play a single game for the India senior men's team. The 32-year-old then moved to United States of America, stating that there is no opportunities knocking his door in Indian cricketing circuit.
