It is then followed by the season of 2026, which will take place between March 15 through May 31. The 2027 season is scheduled between March 14 to May 30. Those dates, mailed to franchises on Thursday via an email accessed by ESPNcricinfo, are branded as "windows" but are likely to end up as finalized dates. The 2025 IPL will play the same 74 matches as the previous two seasons. This is ten fewer than the 84 matches initially listed in the 2022 when the media rights tender the cycle of 2023-27 were sold. That tender outlined a graduated rise in matches from 74 in 2023 and 2024. 84 in the years 2025 and 2026 to 94 for the final year of the 2023-27 cycle in 2027.
