With IPL nearing its conclusion, questions surrounding MS Dhoni's future are back in focus. At 43 years old, Dhoni is now the oldest uncapped player remaining in the IPL. With the 2026 edition of the IPL approaching, CSK has quickly answered the important questions will the franchise captain be back again next year? According to Times of India, people close to the franchise are confident that Dhoni is not ready to call it quits just yet. The five-time champions are confident that things are not done enough with the veteran yet to let go. The report states: “Dhoni has said that he take a decision a few months later, but the feeling is that there are too many loose ends to deal with in the team for MSD to go at this stage.” Earlier this year, Dhoni had expressed a desire to play cricket for a few more years, plus he stated that he only plays two months of the year, staying fit by playing other sports in the rest of the season. In a post-match conversation, Dhoni admitted to being 43 and he also discussed the reality of being match ready. He said he would train for the next 6-8 months to see whether the physical toll of playing an IPL season would be sustainable.
