Cricket fans are having fun on social media after the BCCI announced new retention rules before the IPL 2025 auction. Among the major changes is bringing back the uncapped player rule. In this rule, Indian players who haven't played any international games for five years will be called as uncapped players. Fans feel that this means that MS Dhoni might play in the IPL next year as an uncapped player. BCCI said on Saturday, "A capped Indian player will become uncapped if the player has in the last five calendar years preceding the year in which the relevant Season is held, not played in the starting XI in International Cricket (Test match, ODI, Twenty20 International) or does not have a Central Contract with BCCI. This will be applicable for Indian Players only," Look at the memes on MS Dhoni that started on social media after the uncapped player rule was announced.
