In the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL), Ravindra Jadeja has turned out to be yet another cricketer to face the bat gauge. The CSK star had this issue while batting on the fifth over against SunRisers Hyderabad on the pitch at MA Chidambaram Stadium, whereupon the on-field officials checked his bat with the gauge inappropriately on the way out to bat. In the humorous context of the situation, Jadeja signaled to the dressing room for a new bat and smiled. To further the comic effect a little, he tapped the bat on the ground a few times, wishing it would somehow trickle past the gauge. The bat did not pass despite all his efforts. The umpires were asked to check it again, and it failed again. By then, Shreyas Gopal had sprinted on to the field with a new bat for Jadeja. Ravindra Jadeja Please , leave this franchise of fixers. Then, if you break it or get a new one, check it again. I like this new rule." Interestingly enough, on the very first ball, Jadeja opened up the outside edge of the bat and sent the ball racing to the boundary, splitting the short third man and wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen like a perfect needles-eye. Clarke added: "Ah, the skinny one gets the edge. The wider one that’d have hit the middle,"
