The playoff chase for IPL 2025 is heating up. All the teams are still in contention, but they have to win important games and enhance their Net Run Rate (NRR) as well. Current table toppers Gujarat Titans are followed closely by teams such as DC, RCB, and PBKS. At the lower half of the table are heavyweights such as KKR, CSK, RR, and SRH, who are now threatened with a loss marginally short of almost every match. With six to seven games remaining for most teams, the next fortnight will be decisive. Teams with a better NRR like GT, DC MI, and RCB are in a better place, and others require huge victories to remain in the playoff hunt. They need to win just two of their last six games to almost seal a playoff berth. With Sai Sudharsan and Prasidh Krishna at the top of the Orange and Purple Cap standings, GT are looking good. However, three out of their remaining five matches are at M. Chinnaswamy, where they have won just one game this season. They must win three out of the next five matches to achieve 16 points and remain in contention. The next matches of MI are against LSG, RR, GT, PBKS, and DC. They need to win at least three of their remaining six games and win it comprehensively to enhance their net run rate. They will be facing CSK, LSG, DC, MI, and RR in their remaining matches. They need to win all six remaining matches to achieve 14 points and they will to win them with huge margins in order to keep their NRR better, and hope for at least a team from the top four to end the league stage at 12 points. If a team at fourth finishes at 14 points with lower NRR than SRH and SRH win all six games with better NRR, they can make into the playoffs.
