Skipper Shubman Gill played a quick cameo of 33 off 14, but his early dismissal put some pressure on the team. Jos Buttler anchored the middle phase with a well-compiled 54 off 33, while Sherfane Rutherford chipped in with 46. Despite these strong contributions, GT couldn't cross the finish line even though Shahrukh Khan hist a monstrous six in the last ball. Punjab’s bowlers had a tough outing as Gujarat Titans came close to chasing down the massive target of 244. While Arshdeep Singh was the standout performer with 2 wickets for 36 runs in his 4 overs, the rest of the bowling unit struggled to contain the flow of runs. Marco Jansen, despite picking up a wicket, proved expensive, conceding 44 runs in his full quota of 4 overs. Azmatullah Omarzai and Marcus Stoinis had forgettable spells, giving away 29 and 31 runs in just 2 overs each, respectively, at economies over 14.5 and 15.5.
