The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that players and umpires will wear black armbands during Match 41 of IPL 2025 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, April 23. This gesture is a tribute to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack that has left the nation in mourning. In addition to the armbands, a minute’s silence will be observed before the match begins. The BCCI has also decided to forgo cheerleading performances during the game. "Deeply saddened by the heinous attack in Pahalgam on innocent people. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Praying for peace and strength to families of all those who lost their lives and justice to be served for this cruel act," wrote Kohli. Apart from Kohli, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, and several other cricketers have posted on social media. "Heartbreaking to hear about the terrorist attack in Kashmir. My thoughts are with the families of the victims. Praying for peace and strength," Rahul wrote. "Heartbreaking to hear about the attack in Pahalgam. Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad will host Mumbai Indians at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on April 23.
