Gujarat Titans pacer Ishant Sharma has been fined 25 percent of his match fees and handed one demerit point following GT's IPL 2025 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. According to an official release by the IPL, the veteran pacer admitted to a Level 1 offence under Article 2.2 of the IPL Code of Conduct. The article 2.2 deals with abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, which may include actions like kicking the stumps, damaging advertising boards, or mishandling dressing room equipment. While the exact incident leading to the breach wasn’t revealed, Sharma reportedly had a tough outing with the ball, finishing as GT's most expensive bowler of the night. He accepted the match referee’s decision without contest. The official IPL statement released on Monday read: "Ishant Sharma, Bowler, Gujarat Titans, has been fined 25 per cent of his match fees and has also accumulated One Demerit Point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad on Sunday.
