Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan showed brilliant form ahead of IPL 2025, scoring back-to-back half-centuries in a recent intra-squad match for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sunrisers Hyderabad organized a practice match between SRH A and SRH B, where Kishan, their new signing, was given a chance to bat for both teams. In the first innings, he opened the batting alongside Abhishek Sharma and wasted no time attacking the bowlers. Abhishek played a quick knock of 28 off just 8 balls before getting out, but Kishan continued his aggressive approach. He smashed 64 runs off 24 balls before Kamindu Mendis dismissed him. Kishan got another opportunity in the second innings, where his team had to chase 261 in 20 overs. He once again played an explosive knock, scoring 73 runs off 30 balls. Notably, this time, he even took on Abhishek Sharma, who was bowling. IPL 2025 is an opportunity for Ishan Kishan to redeem himself After spending seven years with the Mumbai Indians, Ishan Kishan will now play for Sunrisers Hyderabad. MI tried to buy him back in the mega auction, but SRH secured his services for INR 11.25 crore after an epic battle. Despite scoring a double century for India against Bangladesh in December 2022, he lost his place in the team. Shubman Gill became the preferred opener, while KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Sanju Samson took over the wicketkeeping roles. As a result, Kishan was left out of the Indian squad. With a new franchise, he now has a fresh opportunity to prove himself and make a comeback to the Indian team. However, SRH is unlikely to change their successful opening combination of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. Kishan is expected to bat at number three, where he will have to continue his attacking approach. Sunrisers Hyderabad will kick off their IPL 2025 campaign against the Rajasthan Royals on March 23 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
