If MI win the match, they will finish the group stage with 18 points. But simply winning the next match won't be sufficient to shift to the top two. Currently, MI trail Gujarat Titans (GT), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), and PBKS as all three teams have more points or have a better opportunity of moving upwards, and all three have two games remaining. In the IPL, teams ending in the top two enjoy a privilege. They have two opportunities to make it to the final. That's why MI will work their best to qualify not only but to end up in the top two. What MI Must Do to End Up in the Top Two Here's what MI require: Win against PBKS in their final match - that will get them to 18 points. Wish that at least two of the other three qualified teams (GT, RCB, and PBKS) lose both their remaining games. If so, MI can progress on the basis of points or Net Run Rate (NRR).
