Sanjay Manjrekar has once again sparked outrage on social media, this time with his analysis of IPL 2025 performances. Known for his outspoken views both on commentary and online, Manjrekar shared a controversial list of "batters that matter" based purely on runs and strike rates so far this season. However, the exclusion of big names like Virat Kohli, Sai Sudharsan, and Aiden Markram from the list left many fans questioning his criteria and his alleged biases. "When it comes to batting, the only list that matters. Big runs with great SR so far," Manjrekar wrote on social media while revealing his list. His selection included only those who had scored at least 250 runs at a strike-rate of 153 or more. The batters named by Manjrekar were: Nicholas Pooran (377 runs, SR 205), Priyansh Arya (254 runs, SR 202), Shreyas Iyer (263 runs, SR 185), Suryakumar Yadav (373 runs, SR 167), Jos Buttler (356 runs, SR 166), Mitchell Marsh (344 runs, SR 161), Travis Head (261 runs, SR 159), Heinrich Klaasen (288 runs, SR 157), KL Rahul (323 runs, SR 154), and Shubman Gill (305 runs, SR 153)" Manjrekar wrote on X (Formerly Twitter).
