Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel has been fined INR 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate during their IPL 2025 match against Mumbai Indians on Sunday night in Delhi. According to the IPL media release, the DC captain was penalised after the team’s 12-run loss against the five-time champions. As per Article 2.22 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct, a captain is fined INR 12 lakh for the team’s first slow over rate offence of the season. The league no longer imposes match suspensions for repeat offences but continues to enforce monetary fines and on-field restrictions to keep the game moving efficiently.
