KL Rahul after starting the Border Gavaskar Trophy with great composure and appearing to be India's best batter in the first three matches, once again ended the series with mediocre numbers due to the poor performance in the later half of the huge series. Rahul ended the series averaging 30.67 and scoring 276 runs, just 21 more than someone like Rishabh Pant who mostly had a below average series. Another point to be kept in mind is that playing as a designated WK, the star batter has gathered 1386 runs at 55.44 These numbers prove nothing but the fact that the Karnataka batter has been a dependable asset for team India in the middle order. Stepping up at the right time, he tends to take India home at most of the occasions. There should be absolutely no doubt in the minds of the selectors to fix KL Rahul's position in the Indian team for the first match of the ICC Champions Trophy.
