The fifth and final Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 between India and England will be played at The Oval from July 31 to August 4. England being ahead in the series 2-1, India needs to win to make the contest level. Before the decider, the Indian side is likely to have at least four changes to the playing XI. Pant and Bumrah to Miss the Final Test India will be without the 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who injured his right foot on the opening day of the fourth Test in Manchester. Dhruv Jurel will replace Pant behind the stumps. The BCCI has included Tamil Nadu's Narayan Jagadeesan as Pant's cover in the team, but Jurel will reportedly feature in the playing XI. Jasprit Bumrah, the No. 1 Test bowler in the world, will also be missing the game as workload management is also on cards. Prior to the start of the series, the management and Bumrah made it clear that India's ace pacer will play just three Tests in the series and he has already played three. Though captain Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir didn't confirm Bumrah's non-participation, all indications are that he will be rested. Akash Deep, who impressed with 10 wickets in the second Test at Edgbaston, is likely to return to the XI after being rested for the fourth Test due to a groin injury. Shardul Thakur and Anshul Kamboj, who played in Manchester but were not efficient with the ball, will likely be omitted. Kuldeep Yadav, who did not play a Test more than nine months ago, may make a comeback to the team. Left-arm bowler Arshdeep Singh, India's top wicket-taker in T20Is, will also make his Test debut having missed the Manchester game with an injury sustained during practice. India are not going to change their top four, and following unbeaten hundreds by Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar in Manchester, no additional all-rounder is required. India may look to have four specialist bowlers at The Oval instead. India's probable XI for 5th Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Dhruv Jurel (wk), Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj.
