It seems that Arshdeep Singh will have to wait that little while longer to play his Test debut. As per a report by RevSportz Correspondent Rohit Juglan, India is likely to name Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Akash Deep as the three frontline fast bowlers for the second Test against England at Edgbaston. Earlier, after Bumrah was rested for the 2nd Test, many speculated Arshdeep Singh to replace the Indian Ace pacer. However, the reports suggests that Akash Deep will replace Jasprit Bumrah, who will be rested with workload management in mind. There were speculations that left arm pacer Arshdeep may find an opportunity in this game, but again, the team management has excluded him from the lineup. Akash Deep, with his penchant for having strong seam bowling, can prove to be a stronger candidate to play in supportive English conditions. Instead, Hyderabad's young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy could be included in the XI. Nitish had a wonderful debut series in Australia, wherein he even scored a hundred. His batting and bowling capabilities add more balance to India, particularly in the middle order. There are speculations also that chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav might return to the team, but nothing is sure yet. India can also persist with players such as Sai Sudharsan and Karun Nair even if their performance in the previous match was dismal. The management of the team is apparently willing to give them another opportunity. However, their batting positions will remain same or not is not revealed yet. India's Most Likely Playing XI for the 2nd Test against England Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Shubman Gill (c), Rishabh Pant (wk), Karun Nair, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj.
