India is almost on the way of getting kicked from the World Test Championship scenario after suffering from the 184-run massive defeat against Australia. Speaking about Australia, they had a PCT hike from 58.89 to 61.45 after sealing their 10th win in the ongoing WTC cycle. Meanwhile, South Africa has already qualified for the World Test Championship final after defeating Pakistan by 2 wickets in the first of the two Tests. India's qualification scenario No matter what happens later, the calculator mode is on. India can't afford to lose or draw at Sydney, as that will ensure automatic qualification of Australia. If India manages to win the Sydney Test, India will have a PCT of 55.26 and will have to depend on Sri Lanka. Following the Border Gavaskar Trophy, Australia will play two away Tests against Sri Lanka. Even if they draw both matches, they will qualify, leaving behind India. Notably, Australia defeated India by 184 runs in Melbourne and will play the final Test of the series on January 3.
