The Indian Women's cricket team is on the cusp of winning their maiden ICC trophy. After years of heartbreak, the girls have got a golden opportunity in their country to turn the tables on their side. Notably, the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup final will be played at the DY Patil Stadium on November 2nd between India and South Africa. That means this 2025 ODI World Cup is welcoming a new winner. But the India vs. South africa final script has somehow already been introduced in the cinema of cricket—in the 2024 men's T20 World Cup. Well, just like the category and format of the game, is there any parity in remunerations of male and female cricketers? Notably, New Zealand Cricket was the first one to introduce equal pay for both male and female cricketers, in July 2022. South Africa too followed the same path this year. For BCCI, they picked up the equal-pay policy soon after New Zealand, in October 2022. However, there is a catch. The equality is not equal in all aspects. As per recent data in 2025, the women cricketers are paid INR 15 lakhs per Test match. They get INR 6 lakhs per ODI and INR 3 lakhs per T20I match. Huge parity in BCCI central contracts Unlike Men's cricket, Women's cricket does not have an A+ category. In men's cricket, the A+ category is enjoyed by Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. These four cricketers are paid INR 7 crores each annually. However, for the women, the highest category is A, which is given to Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma and captain Harmanpreet Kaur. BCCI pays them INR 50 lakhs each, annually. On the other side, if looked at the Mena's side, they are paid INR 5 crore each annually for being enlisted in Grade A. In Women's cricket, Grade B cricketers are given INR 30 lakhs apiece annually, while male cricketers get INR 3 crore each for the same. The Grade C male cricketers get INR 1 crore per year, while a Grade C contracted woman cricketer gets INR 10 lakh a year.
