The former Indian bowler Ravichandran Ashwin has sustained a knee injury due to which he has been ruled out from the 15th season of the Big Bash League. In September he signed a contract with the Sydney Thunders; however, his first season did not go well.   Sydney Thunders announced Ashwin's injury on Thursday, November 4th, and that he won't be playing this season. Sydney Thunders' General Manager Trent Copeland expressed his disappointment and said,   "Everyone at Sydney Thunder was devastated to learn of Ash's knee injury that has ruled him out of BBL 15, and we wish him well in his recovery."   Well, the franchise is trying to reschedule Ashwin's activities, keeping in mind his injury and the recovery process. The franchise is currently focusing on how to adjust Ashwin in the off-field activities, mainly being involved with the team or engaging with the fans. Copeland further added,   "From the moment we first spoke with Ash, his commitment to Thunder was clear. We are hopeful of welcoming him into our dugout for part of BBL, introducing him to our fans at events and building a long-term relationship."   Read also: India’s Women Stars Get Huge Endorsement Hike After World Cup Win - Check How Much!   Speaking about the situation Ashwin expressed his dismay for missing the season. He said,   "I'm gutted to miss BBL. My focus now is recovery and coming back stronger. I'm grateful to the Thunder family and the fans for the warmth they've already shown me. Trent and the entire management made me feel part of the club from our very first conversation."   He further added,   "While disappointing for the club, we have built two championship-contending squads and expect to continue the progress of recent seasons in WBBL and BBL. We can't wait to get back in front of our fans in Western Sydney for two massive campaigns."   The Thunder will kick off their BBL season with a grand final rematch against the Hobart Hurricanes on December 16 in Hobart. Their next fixture will be the Sydney Smash on December 20.
