The Indian women's cricket team has begun its preparations for the Women's ODI World Cup 2025. Coming fresh from a successful tour of England, the home side is seeking ultimate triumph. With 47 days remaining for the tournament to start, the Women in Blue are in the final stages of preparedness. Around 10 days after defeating England 2-1 in the ODI series, Team India arrived at the Centre of Excellence (previously the National Cricket Academy) in Bengaluru for a 10-day training camp. The idea was to focus on strength and conditioning, get fitter, and work on skills for the job at hand. Being the home team, India and Australia will be the favourites. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur had spoken about the pressure of expectations and how it will be special playing at home as India aim to win their first ICC trophy. Here is what Harmanpreet said: “Playing in front of a home crowd is always special, and hopefully this time we’ll give our 100 per cent and finally break the barrier that all Indian fans have been waiting for. World Cups are special, and I always want to do something special for my country,” Also Read: Rajasthan Royals want Ravindra Jadeja or Ruturaj Gaikwad for Trading Sanju Samson The fixtures will be beneficial to India. Mid-September will see Australia tour India for a 3-match ODI series. Two warm-up games against England (September 25) and New Zealand (September 27) will be played in the week leading up to playing the ODI World Cup opener against Sri Lanka. Overall, India could not have got better preparations. The announcement of the squad is due by August 30, and it is questionable whether there would be much change from how it was against England.
