In the latest development, reports have claimed that a fresh new pitch will be used in the first semi-final match of the Champions Trophy 2025 between India and Australia on March 4, Tuesday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Earlier in the pre-match conference, the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma confirmed that he is not aware of the pitch that will be used in the semi-final clash. He was actually correct as ICC is set to use a fresh pitch in that match. So far, in the previous three encounters of India, three different pitches were used against Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand in Dubai. However, the upcoming game between India and Australia will see a new pitch, which has previously not been used in this tournament so far as reported by Cricbuzz. The curator of the surface here is Matthew Sandery. The Australian is the curator for the pitches at both DICS and the ICC Academy.” It will be interesting to see how the game unfolds and if the toss affects the nature of the game. However, the first three matches that have been played here haven’t been so high-scoring games which signals that the nature of the surface will be eventually slow and sluggish. Both team captains have yet to assess the pitch conditions but depending on the conditions they will come to the conclusion whether batting or fielding first will be most suitable for them. The semi-final match will be played on Tuesday, March 4th.
