The Australian cricket team encountered a major issue in their practice leading up to the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against South Africa which will be played at Lord's. They were prevented from practicing at Lord's Cricket Ground, which will host the final on June 11. A Fox Cricket's report stated that the Australian cricket team were informed that Lord's training ground was not available. The reason why is still not apparent. But it has been reported that the Indian cricket team-led by Shubman Gill, who are in England for a five-match Test series, were permitted to train there simultaneously. The Indian team was allowed to use Lord's "at the expense of the Australian team," a report by Fox Cricket stated. It stated that Pat Cummins and his team were "booted out." The report further stated that although the WTC final starts on June 11, India's first Test against England is on June 20. Indeed, the Lord's Test between England and India is the third match in the series and commences on July 10, 2025. Even though the Australians were initially denied training, they were eventually given the opportunity to train at Lord's on Sunday. I'm sure it will be much more civil this time around." Australia's skipper Pat Cummins then commented on their training, their plans for the match, and also on the type of abuse they face from fans whenever they play at Lord's. The Australian skipper stated: "Things got pretty heated in the middle of that Ashes series, but I think a lot of them will have learned their lesson and I'm sure they'll be very polite." Cummins will captain Australia's bowling in the WTC final against South Africa. He will be ably assisted by Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon. All-rounder Cameron Green is set to be the fourth fast-bowling choice.
