In the latest development, the Indian team is reportedly set to play a 3-day intra-squad practice match from Friday to Sunday at the WACA stadium ahead of their first BGT Test which is scheduled to be played in Perth. Earlier there was an intra-squad warm game scheduled between India and India A but it reportedly got cancelled because the management wanted to keep the squad fresh for the BGT series without injuries. However, the general public won't be allowed to watch the match as BCCI made an intervention to keep the stadium under lockdown. On Tuesday, Team India held a private, closed-door practice session at the WACA Ground, with black covers surrounding the nets. According to reports, West Australian cricket staff members were prohibited from using their phones outside their offices, and filming inside the ground was strictly restricted. Rishabh Pant, Ashwin, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and KL Rahul were spotted putting in some much-needed practice time. However, Virat Kohli was noticeably absent from the session. Perth Pitch In The First BGT Test Ahead of the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series, the head pitch curator at the WACA said that they will be preparing a green, bouncy and challenging track. He further mentioned that the Optus Stadium pitch would offer solid bounce, good carry, and notable pace. With 10 mm of grass on the surface, it's expected to support fast bowlers, and the curator expressed confidence that the pitch's conditions would remain consistent over all five days.
