The Board of Control for Cricket in India is likely to give a bit of relaxation to the players after the Indian Premier League ends, before they fly to England. As per reports, the team will travel in batches, with the head coach, Gautam Gambhir, accompanying the first batch. As per a report from the Times of India, the first batch of Indian players, along with Gambhir, will depart on June 6. The remaining bunch of players will leave the country after the IPL playoff wraps up and get an ample amount of rest before they switch into the Test format. A source close to BCCI informed the TOI, "The players who get free from the IPL during the league stage are likely to leave with coach Gambhir on June 6. The rest will leave after a short break post the IPL 2025 commitments." It has been learned that they are likely to join the team directly once they reach England. Well, the Test squad has not been announced yet. And once it is announced officially, the players and the coaching staffs will be informed with the follow-ups. Meanwhile, the first batch of the India team is likely to depart on May 25. Players who are not part of the IPL or the playoff matches will travel with the initial group, while the remaining members will join the team at a later time. Although the India A squad was initially set to be revealed earlier this week, the revised IPL schedule has prompted the senior men's selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, to adjust their plans. With Rohit Sharma leaving the Test format, a captaincy void has been made in the team. Sources say that Shubman Gill has been the frontrunner for the throne. However, the selectors are not keeping KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant aside. Notably, following the IPL, India will tour England for a five-match Test series starting on 20 June, with the first Test to be played at Headingley, Leeds.
