The Indian Cricket Team has announced their 16-member squad for the upcoming series against Australia, which doesn't have the name of Shafali Verma. However, no clear reasons have been given from BCCI regarding her exclusion. Well, in the recent past, Shafali wasn't at her absolute best, managing just 56 runs in the recently concluded home series against New Zealand. The last time she scored a half-century in an ODI was in 2022, in July. Shreyanka Patil, the young offspinner, is missing the tour owing to recovery from shin splints. She suffered from a hand injury, for which she can play in the T20 World Cup 2024. Harleen Deol returned to the squad after her short gap in 2023 December. She suffered from a knee injury during her run for the Gujarat Giants in the Women's Premier League. Wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh, who missed the New Zealand series due to her Board's final, is back in the team too.
