In a major development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to allow India to play their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 matches in a hybrid model. As per the latest reports, the PCB has agreed to make adjustments to the CT 2025 schedule and now India matches will be shifted to UAE which was earlier scheduled to be held in Lahore, Pakistan. A tentative schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was released a few months ago, indicating that India’s matches would take place in Lahore due to logistical and security considerations. In a recent interaction with PTI, a source from the PCB mentioned that the Pakistan Cricket Board is prepared to adopt a Hybrid Model if the Indian government declines permission for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to send its team to Pakistan. The source told PTI: "The PCB feels that even if Indian government does not clear the tour to Pakistan slight adjustments can be made to the schedule, as in all probability India would play its matches in Dubai or Sharjah.” The Pakistan Cricket Board has already submitted a tentative schedule to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and is urging the governing body to announce it on November 11 without any delays. The PCB has also prepared a backup plan in case India’s matches need to be held outside Pakistan.
