India will tour Dubai for the Champions Trophy 2025 and is likely to play a practice match prior to that. According to the report of Sports Tak, the Indian men's cricket team will play at least one practice match in Dubai before the tournament starts. Due to the geopolitical tensions, India had refused to travel to Pakistan, citing security concerns. A month-long cold war between the cricket boards of the neighboring countries made Pakistan forced to agree with the hybrid model. However, unlike the 2023 Asia Cup, Pakistan let only the Indian matches be transported to Dubai. In return, Pakistan managed permission to not travel to India for any ICC tournament. The T20I series will conclude just a week before the Champions Trophy starts (February 19). The team is awaiting Mohammad Shami's full fitness and Jasprit Bumrah's recovery from the back pain he succumbed to during the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The stalwarts, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, including Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj, are likely to be rested in the England series. But the dilemma arises regarding captaincy in the Champions Trophy, as many are predicting Rohit Sharma might be sidelined. In case Bumrah comes fit, he is likely to be the vice-captain if Rohit Shama leads despite rumors. The team selection will be done on January 12, however, is allowed to change till February 13.
