India won the second Test at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi, by 7 wickets on Day 5, much before the Tea was declared. KL Rahul, who got his career's 20th Test half-century, scored the winning one run, having Dhruv Jurel by his side. KL had managed just 38 runs in the innings, but he scored 58 runs, the core-scorer for India in the second innings while India was chasing 124 runs. Well, much to everyone's surprise and the team's comic relief, the Indian captain Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to bat. The team piled up 390 runs, courtesy of the twin centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubmann Gill. Yashasvi Jaiswal, the batter with the most number of boundaries (22), has been the best performer from the side, scoring 175 runs. A bad miscommunication with Gill cost him his wicket. After a moment of anguish, Jaiswal left the crease. Shubman too got his 5th century as the Test captain and the overall 10th Test hundred. He scored 129 runs off 196 balls hitting 16 boundaries and two sixes. Sai Sudharsan, who was struggling in the Australia tour, managed to get 87 runs off 165 balls, hitting 12 boundaries. Nitish Reddy contributed 43 runs; however, Dhruv Jurel's sportsmanship was loved as he tried to hit a six on his 44th run, as India was waiting to declare. Jomel Warrican was the key bowler who took 3 wickets. Roston Chase took just one wicket. West Indies faltered in the first innings and scored 248 runs, with Kuldeep Yadav leading the Indian side with 5 wickets. His spin partner Ravindra Jadeja took 3, while the pace duo Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah took one each. Washington Sundar, who went wicketless in the first innings, got one in the second. Coming to chase 143 runs, India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal on Day 4. Sai Sudarshan got a good start and added 39 runs. However, he got a slight outside edge and Hope took a stunning low catch at the first slip off Chase. Shubman Gill, wishing to finish the game faster, got out falling for big shots. Rahul held on one side with his gritty innings, followed by an unbearable pain he suffered on Day 4 from Seales.
