India have announced their 15-member squad for the Women's T20 World Cup to be held in the UAE from October 3 to October 20. The team, that reached the semi-finals last time, are placed in Group A alongside Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the team with Smriti Mandhana acting as her deputy. Mandhana is expected to open the batting with Shafali Verma. Dayalan Hemalatha is another top-order option. The other batswomen in the team are Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh, who is one of the primary wicketkeepers alongside Yastika Bhatia. The team bowling options comprises of Renuka Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Asha Sobhana, Sajana Sajeevan and Shreyanka Patil. However, the inclusion of Shreyanka of Yastika is subject to fitness clearance as both are recovering from respective injuries .
