India has announced a strong 15-member squad for the Men's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup, to be played in Oman from October 18 to 27. Eight teams including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and host Oman will be vying for this tournament. Tilak Varma will lead the India A team in the tournament. Sunrisers Hyderabad star opener Abhishek Sharma who had a trying time in the T20I series against Bangladesh will also be a part of the squad. This will be Abhishek's second consecutive year playing in the Emerging Asia Cup, having been a part of the last year's team captained by Yash Dhull, which lost to Pakistan in the final. Lucknow Super Giants batter Ayush Badoni, Chennai Super Kings' Nishant Sindhu, and Mumbai Indians hard-hitters Nehal Wadhera, along with Ramandeep Singh have also been included in the squad. Vaibhav Arora will lead the bowling attack who will be supported by young pacer Rasikh Salam. India won the inaugural edition in 2013 by defeating Pakistan in the final. They were finalists in 2018 and 2023, while Pakistan and Sri Lanka have each won the tournament twice.
