Before the second Test match between India and West Indies on October 10 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, India's head coach Gautam Gambhir has been said to have invited the whole team and support staff for dinner at his Delhi home on Wednesday night. Sources indicate that Gambhir will host the dinner in the garden section of his residence as an open-air event, so the players can unwind and get to know each other before the match. This event, though, may be cancelled if rain causes a disturbance in the capital's weather. The event will be one of Gambhir's earliest big off-field moves after he became India's head coach. The hosts are 1-0 ahead in the two-match series following a one-sided victory in the first Test at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. India beat West Indies by an innings and 140 runs, courtesy of clinical displays by Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul, and Dhruv Jurel, all of whom scored centuries. Meanwhile, the West Indies were bowled out for 162 and 146 in their two innings, while India declared at 448/5. With the second Test being planned in the capital city, the players will be required to practice at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on October 8 before proceeding to Gambhir's home later in the night. India is currently placed at number three in the ICC World Test Championship table, having recorded three victories, one draw, and two defeats. The team will seek to whitewash the series and pick vital points before heading overseas.
